誘いを断る時に使う。
角を立てにくい表現なので便利。
「パスするよ」の本家。

“pass” には、名詞・自動詞・他動詞があり、どれも多義である。
その一部は、日本でも「パス」として定着済みである。

ここでの “pass” は自動詞で、「遠慮する」「やめておく」。
トランプで「1回休む」という意味の「パスする」と同系。
“I’ll” = “I will” は意思を示す。

“Would you like to come with us ? ”  “No, I’ll pass this time.”
（ご一緒されますか？）（いいえ、今回は遠慮しておきます。）
“Do you want some cookies ? ”  “I think I’ll pass.”
（クッキーいかが？）（やめておきます。）
“Thank you for asking, but I’ll pass this time around.”
