First thing in the morning

朝一番に
職場でよく使う「朝イチに」の英語版。
“first thing”（最初のこと）+ “in the morning”（朝に）
だから「朝に最初のこと」で「朝一番に＝朝イチに」。
「朝イチに」同様、主に口頭で使う。
使い方は英日共通しており、ほぼそのまま置き換えられる。
◆ 英文法に従うと、序数 “first”（1番目の）の前には、
＜副詞の “the“＞をつけるのが原則である。
しかし、”first thing” は＜2語ワンセット＞の常套句。
副詞用法で、“the” はつけないのが通例。
“I’ll do that first thing in the morning.”
（朝イチでそれをやります。）
“First thing in the morning, I will call you.”
（朝一番にお電話いたします。）
“I want it to be done first thing in the morning.”
（朝一番にそれを仕上げてもらいたい。）
◆ 明日の朝なら、
“It will be all set by first thing in the morning tomorrow.”
“It will be all set by first thing in the tomorrow morning.”
“It will be all set by first thing tomorrow morning.”
（明日の朝までには準備万端です。）
“I’ll do that first thing in the morning tomorrow.”
“I’ll do that first thing in the tomorrow morning.”
“I’ll do that first thing tomorrow morning.”
（明日、朝イチでそれをやります。）
“morning” の前に、不可算名詞 “tomorrow”（明日）
を伴う場合、表題と異なり、”in the” を省略して
使うことができる（下線）。
◆ よって、月曜日の朝イチであれば、
“Shoot me an email first thing in the morning Monday.”
“Shoot me an email first thing on Monday morning.”（※）
“Shoot me an email first thing Monday morning.”
(月曜日の朝イチにメールして。）
※ “first thing in the Monday morning” とは普通は言わない
