At the end of the day

最終的には

直訳は「一日の終わりには」。

この意味で使われることもあるが、
それよりはるかに頻出なのが上記用法。

「結局は～」と、文頭に来る場合が多い。
文面でも口頭でも使う。

「最終的には」と結論を示す働きをするため、

•  ～ですけど、結局、～なのです
• ～だったけど、結局、～となりました

と、説明的な使われ方をするのが一般的。

使用者の意図はそこにあったりする。

偉そうに聞こえることなく、帰納的に、
「やはり～ですね（でしたね）」
と事の本質を指摘する時に便利。
