With regret

残念ですが
“regret”は、自動詞、他動詞、名詞の形で使われ、
いずれも「残念」「後悔」「失望」「哀悼」
という意味をもつ。
使用場面により、上記の日本語同様に、
伴う感情に大差が出る。
“with regret”は、主に日常的な状況やビジネスで使い、
「残念ですが」という訳が合う。
“With regret, I must inform you this.”
（残念なことですが、このことをお伝えしなければなりません。）
訃報など深刻な場面で使う場合は、
真ん中に形容詞を加えるとよい。
“with deep regret”
“with sincere regret”（誠に残念なことですが）
